Halloween costumes can make or break your holiday, but it isn’t always easy to find cheap Halloween costumes that are any good. There are lots of things you can do to save money if you are handy with needle, thread and glue gun but I have to say that, in the past, what I thought was a cheap alternative always ended up being more expensive!
By the time I had bought all the materials – and you usually have to buy more stuff than you need, I had spent more than I would have done on a good, simple costume, but I had a load of stuff left over that would never get used. As for the time it took me – never again!
By spending just a little bit of time searching on the internet I found loads of costumes for just a few dollars, and I still had the time to enjoy getting ready for the party rather than frantically trying to get the costume finished. This Bride of Frankenstein Costume is a classic example, at around $35 I couldn’t have bought the materials.
Sometimes it can be a false economy to try and Do-It-Yourself, just look at some of the costumes here and you will see just what I mean. I don’t like spending more money than I have to – but my time is valuable too!
